Red Hot Chili Peppers Set To Wow Johannesburg and Cape Town

Without a doubt one of the most successful acts in rock music history, the Red Hot Chili Peppers have sold more than 60 million albums, including five multi-platinum LPs, and won six Grammy Awards. The band holds the record for the most No. 1 singles of all time in the Alternative Rock category, a total of 11. They have also won 8 MTV Video Music Awards. In April 2012, the Chili Peppers were inducted into the Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame.

 Their newest release, I’m With You, was produced by Rick Rubin, who has produced the band’s previous five albums, 2006’s Stadium Arcadium, 2002’s By The Way, 1999’s Californication, 1995’s One Hot Minute, and 1991’s Blood Sugar Sex Magik. Both ‘Californication’ and ‘Blood Sugar Sex Magik’ have ranked in Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest albums of all time. ‘I’m With You’ features the hit single ‘The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie’ and the band’s latest release, ‘Brendan’s Death Song’.

Red Hot Chili Peppers, which is singer Anthony Kiedis, bassist Flea, drummer Chad Smith, and guitarist Josh Klinghoffer, are performing live for the first time in South Africa. They will be live at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg on Saturday 2nd February before making their way down to Cape Town for the final performance of their South African tour on 5th February. The Chili Peppers are supported by Die Antwoord and The Muffinz.
