When it comes to corporate golf days, organising the first one is usually the most difficult. In Minopex’s case, it seems they bucked the trend! 100 of their most loyal customers, clients and staff members took time out of their busy schedules to enjoy a great day of golf at Ebotse Golf & Country Estate, situated in Benoni. The golf course was playing extremely tough with the greens causing problems for the majority of the golfers. However, the opportunity to socialise and network with business associates is the main goal of any corporate event and the result is of secondary consequence.
The players were treated to a full range of giveaways at the registration desk, including branded golf shirts and golf balls as well as caps. Food and beverages were supplied throughout the day and many of Minopex’s clients made use of the opportunity to sponsor a hole which resulted in a golf course awash with colourful, eye-catching branding.
Video Swing Analysis was conducted on the 9th and 18th holes and approximately 90% of the golfers took time out after their round to spend time with our PGA Teaching Professionals who were on hand to offer advice and swing tips on how to improve their game. Michael Scholz entertained the guests with a brief 45 minute trick shot show in front of the clubhouse, which went down extremely well with everyone in attendance. Prizes were awarded to 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th place and there were additional prizes for Longest Drive and Nearest The Pin. Lucky draw prizes were kindly donated by several suppliers.
It is well-documented that golf days are a great way to raise money for charity and Minopex’s golf day was no different. The main beneficiary being Cotlands, who gratefully accepted a cheque for R25 000.00 from Paul Thomson, Managing Director of Minopex.
On behalf of African Thunder Events, thank you very much to Trudi and the staff at Minopex for the opportunity to manage and coordinate your first annual golf day. We look forward to being of service to you in future and not only from a golf perspective.
